It supports full, incremental, and differential jobs, integrates with Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) to capture consistent snapshots of open files, and offers compression and optional encryption to help reduce storage use and safeguard data in transit and at rest.
Managed centrally from the ARCserve Backup server, the agent lets administrators schedule policies, monitor job status, enforce retention, and perform remote restores with minimal disruption. It is designed for efficient data transfer and resilient operation, helping maintain performance across diverse network environments. The Client Agent for Windows works with a broad range of supported Windows operating systems and backs up to disk and tape devices managed by ARCserve Backup. For application-aware protection of workloads such as Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, and SharePoint, separate ARCserve agents are available.
